Is it really free to take an exam?
Yes. You can attempt any of our 74 professional exams completely free of charge. No credit card is required to create an account or start the 60-minute test. Immediately upon completion, you will receive a comprehensive score breakdown and a verifiable digital Scorecard.
What is the difference between a Scorecard and an Official Credential?
A Scorecard (e.g. IECC-SC-CAVA-2026-000137) is an unauthenticated passing record provided free to demonstrate individual evaluation results. An Official Credential ($39) includes an authenticated high-resolution PDF certificate with a permanent SHA-256 fingerprint, 24 months of verified registry status, and downloadable Open Badges assets.
How many times can I attempt an exam?
Standard candidates receive 2 free attempts per examination within any rolling 12-month period. Professional Annual Pass members receive up to 3 attempts per exam.
How do employers verify my credential?
Employers can visit iecc.digital/verify or scan the QR code printed on your certificate. Verification is instant, requires no login, and displays your full name, certification title, curriculum version, and active status.
How long is a certificate valid?
All official credentials are valid for 24 months (2 years) from the date of issuance. You can renew before or after expiration for $19 by passing the latest exam revision.
How do I purchase the Triple Pack or Annual Pass?
All packages are selected at claim time. After you pass any exam, open your results page and look for the "Select Package Option" panel: choose Single Credential ($39), Triple Pack ($89), or Annual Pass ($129), then click "Continue to Checkout" to pay. Bundle credits and annual-pass entitlements are added to your dashboard automatically after payment, and you can apply them to any exams you pass later.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit/debit cards via Creem (Merchant of Record), Wise transfers, and bank wire transfer (Mercury). Corporate invoice options (Wise/bank transfer) are available for team voucher orders over $199.
